ThermOmegaTech Receives AS9100D Certification
ThermOmegaTech® is pleased to announce it received AS9100D Certification in April.
AS9100D is a standardized quality management system for the aviation, space, and defense industries. The AS9100 standard was developed in 1999 by the Society of Automotive Engineers and the European Association of Aerospace Industries, and AS9100D is an update to AS9100 that incorporates the full text of the non-specific industry standard of ISO 9001:2015 and adds additional requirements that apply specifically to the aviation, space and defense industries.
AS9100D focuses heavily on defining critical business processes, managing risk throughout the entire operational process, assuring product safety, preventing counterfeit parts, and timely delivery of high-quality goods.
“Major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers require conformance with or certification to AS9100D as a condition of doing business with them,” Linda Rothenberger, ThermOmegaTech® Aerospace & Defense Division General Manager commented. “Having the certificate sets you apart and gives you a competitive edge over other companies.” For companies working with major players in the global aerospace and defense markets, the importance of having AS9100D Certification cannot be overstated.
This AS9100D Certification builds on the ISO9001:2015 Certification that ThermOmegaTech® has held for more than a decade, indicative of the company’s long and continued history of striving for and achieving excellence.
Obtaining AS9100D Certification is one more example of ThermOmegaTech’s pursuit of continuous improvement. The company is constantly evaluating current practices to determine the most efficient and effective methods to achieve manufacturing goals and customer satisfaction.
Examples of initiatives enacted at ThermOmegaTech® as a result of its focus on continuous improvement are implementation of LEAN manufacturing processes, installation of solar panels on the roof that have generated more than 315 MWH since May 2018, replacement of energy-wasting windows and machinery, and the establishment of an employee-staffed safety committee.
ThermOmegaTech® aims to achieve the highest manufacturing standards while ensuring a productive and synergistic workplace for all its employees.
